Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy uses proven techniques to help restore movement and function to anyone affected by an injury, disability or health condition. It’s a therapy that can help you achieve movement for life!

A Physiotherapist will use their in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with hands-on clinical skills, to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms.

Pain Management

Pain Management

Pain is recognised as a multifactorial experience and it has been demonstrated that pain management works best when we address the whole person.  The aim is to spend the time to assess you thoroughly; creating a complete picture of the various factors influencing your pain.  From here we will work in collaboration to move forwards to achieve your goals.   It is important that you come away with a good understanding of your own self-management options and this will be incorporated within our programme.

About

helen portrait circleMy Professional life so far…

I started out in 1995 having attained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Physiotherapy degree from the University of Brighton, England. I have since worked as a Physiotherapist in numerous hospitals across the UK, New Zealand and Australia gaining knowledge in a wide range of clinical areas over the last 20 years. Over the last 15 years I have focused clinically on treating patients with persistent pain problems across musculoskeletal and neurological fields. In 2008 I obtained a Master of Science Medicine degree specialising in Pain Management from The University of Sydney.  My experience has also included various research and teaching roles, and I continue to enjoy presenting talks on pain management within Physiotherapy. I was awarded titling in 2019 to become an APA titled Pain Physiotherapist.

The Scientists and Researchers continue to provide us with new understandings of our amazingly complex bodies. Ongoing learning is an important aspect of my work, and I enjoy expanding my knowledge and incorporating these ideas into my clinical space.  In hospital roles and in my own private practice I combine the latest research and extensive clinical experience with individualised movement therapy, education and hands on techniques.  Access to skilled clinicians is improving and with the advancements in telehealth services I am able to offer effective options to all.  I look forward to working with you to create unique effective treatment plans, successfully helping you achieve goals and regain a fulfilling independent life.
